With the second instantiation of Web 2.0 Expo coming to San Fran this week, the Everything 2.0 is ready for a big showdown. It’s big, it’s fun, it’s real, it’s more 2.0 than ever. And everybody will ask themselves – and if they are courageous enough to admit their curiosity also others – will all ask themselves the same question: “What is behind this curtain?”.
There will be no Web 3.0 as much as there never was a Web 1.0 – but that’s not a lot to look forward to. So what’s next? Media and technology don’t develop on straight lines and we should expect something completely unexpected.

Laurie Anderson: Born, Never Asked on Big Science
It was a large room. Full of people. All kinds
And they had all arrived at the same building
at more or less the same time.
And they were all free.
And they were all
asking themselves the same question
You were born. And so you’re free. So happy birthday.
